On Sunday last the senior team were defeated by Eastern Harps by a single point in the Championship semi final. A speedy recovery is wished to Eamon Walsh who was injured in this game, and to James Leonard who was seriously injured in the Minor final on Saturday last.

The Under 12 girls were defeated by Curry in the County final played in Cloonacool on Saturday last.

The Parish Football League will commence on Saturday October 5th at 11:00am. All National school children are welcome to attend.

A special meting of all GAA supporters in the parish will be held  Wednesday September 25th in the Hillary Rooms Banada Abbey Hall at 9:30pm. The club is looking to carry out a major drainage scheme and overhaul of the pitch that will bring it up to the highest standards currently available.

On Sunday next the senior team play Eastern Harps in the Championship semi final. The game is fixed for Tubbercurry and your support is welcomed.

The minor team were defeated by a stronger St. John’s team in the  “A” Championship final played in Markievicz Park on Saturday last. The team now look forward to contesting the later stages of the League. A very speedy recovery is wished to Neftali Villanova who sustained a severe foot injury ande  that forced him out of this match.

The Under 12 girls will face Curry in the County final to be played in Cloonacool on Saturday September 28th. Further details to follow. Your support of the team would be appreciated.

The Under 14 girls played the County “B” final on Saturday last when a very talented Enniscrone team got the upper hand and ran out comprehensive winners in sun drenched Cloonacool. A speedy recovery is wished Pamela Gavigan who sustained a severe hand injury in the game that will keep her out of football for the near future.

Congratulations to Louise Gavaghan Tullymoy who will represent Tourlestrane and Sligo in Croke Park at half time in the Ladies All Ireland Final on Sunday September 29.

Congratulations to the Aclare Plastics & Local Industry team who defeated NCF by 2 points in the County Sligo Inter Firms Final played under the lights in Sligo IT on Thursday last. Gerry McGowan, James Curley, Brendan Egan, Patrick Egan, Steven King ,Colin Neary, Enda Gallagher, and Eamonn Haran represented Tourlestrane while Fintan Kennedy and Eamonn Walsh played for NCF.
Congratulations to the under age players of the parish who recently received their Junior Certificate results.
Well done to Eamon O’Hara who recently forecast the All Ireland winners Armagh on Radio 1. Eamon partnered Jimmy McGee and Glen Young with radio analysis of the All Ireland final

On Sunday last, the senior team defeated St. John’s by an 8-point margin in a game played in splendid conditions in Tubbercurry. This game saw the welcome return to action of Patrick Egan after his recent sojourn in America. David Durkin, who returned form holidays earlier in the day, was voted the Tourlestrane Man of the Match. The team has a welcome break for 2 weeks when they will contest the semi final Details to follow

The minor team face St. John’s in the “A” final to be played in Markievicz Park on Saturday September 21st at 4:00 pm. The very best of luck is wished to the team, manager Michael Henry and trainer Paddy Henry. A large number of supporters are expected to travel to support this very dedicated team who have trained very diligently over the last number of months

Congratulations to the under 16 girls who won the County Under 16 “B” Championship on Saturday last when they defeated Curry on a scoreline of Tourlestrane 7-11 Curry 5-5 to win this competition for the first time in the clubs history. In an exciting encounter played in summer like conditions, Tourlestrane were behind at half time by   3 points. The second half got off to a dream start with a Louise Brett goal that levelled the sides. This along with positional changes by management found the team beginning to play as a unit and to their true potential. The team and scorers were Tracey O’Hara Marian Gavigan, Bernie Gavigan, Jane Kennedy, Edith Walsh, Laura Walsh (Capt.) Aoife Henry, Siobhan O’Donnell, (1-2) Aisling Egan, Nicola Brennan, Marion O’Donnell, (1-0) Ann Marie Kelly (2-0) Louise Brett (3-8) Fiona Walsh, (1-0) Subs Aisling Seery, Yvonne Kelly, Shauna Henry, Mairead O’Donnell, and Andrea Curley. Afterwards the team were treated to light refreshments in Murphy’s Tubbercurry. The club would like to compliment Cloonacool GAA Club on the fine condition of the pitch after then adverse weather conditions of the summer

The under 14 girls will play the County “B” final on Saturday September 21st in Cloonacool at 1:00pm when they face the strong opposition of Enniscrone. Your support of the team and manager Marie O’Hara would be appreciated.

The under 14 boys avenged their Championship defeat by St. Mary’s when they faced them at home in Tourlestrane. The result of this game will determine the play off positions for the competition. Final score Tourlestrane 2-8 St. Mary’s 2-6

The best of luck is wished to Aclare Plastics & Local Industry who will face NCF in the Inter Firms final to be played in Sligo IT on Thursday September 19th at 7:00pm

The club's allocation of All Ireland football tickets will be given out through a confined members draw on Thursday September 19 2002 at 9:00pm in the club house. All members are welcome.

After a 5 point win over Castleconnor on Sunday last in Kent Park, the senior team have qualified for the Championship quarter finals where they will face St. John’s on Sunday next at 3:00pm. Tourlestrane’s Man of the Match in this game was Colin Neary. In the first round  defeat by Coolera, Eamonn O’Hara was voted Tourlestrane’s Man of the Match

A speedy recovery is wished to Shane Dunne who was injured during the Coolera match recently

The minor team had a good win in the Championship over Drumcliffe recently. The game, played in Grange, ended on a score of Tourlestrane 2-9 Drumcliffe 0-9. The semi final was played versus Coolera on Monday last. In a thrilling game played in less than ideal conditions in Ballymote the team ran out winners on a scoreline of Tourlestrane 1-9 Coolera 0-6. The team will now face St. John’s in the “A” final. The very best of luck is wished to the team, Manager Micheal Henry and trainer Paddy Henry
Congratulations to the under 12 under 14 and 16 girls have all qualified for the County finals of their respective competitions. This is a great achievement for the girls and their coaches, Therese Walsh and Marie  O’Hara.
The under 16 girls final is scheduled for Saturday September 14th in Tubbercurry at 3:00pm. Please check the Scoreboard section for any changes. The dates for the other 2 finals are awaiting decision. Your support of the teams would be greatly appreciated.

A speedy recovery is wished to our President Tommy Jackson who is recovering after illness.

Congratulations to  Patrick Egan who won the Player of the Tournament award presented by the North American  Board after the North American finals held recently in Chicago.
